Kirsty and Ben Vegan Wedding in Omaha

29th December 2024. Kirsty and Ben married in Omaha at a private property and celebrated their union with a small party and an almost all vegan and gluten-free wedding. I say almost because all except the arancini was vegan.

All the food was served on sharing platters so they could all enjoy some family time with their kids and at the table.

Bruschetta with fresh tomato, olives and homemade basil pesto

Phaedra and Isaac Wedding in Matakana

19 January 2025. Phaedra and Isaac outdoor wedding took place at Phaedra’s beautiful childhood home in Matakana. A stretch tent was set against the house, adorned with colorful festoon and beautiful wooden tables and benches.

They opted for a 6pm ceremony so they could had a first look and all family photos and enjoy the rest if the evening with their guests.

Right after the ceremony we served canapés on trays, these were walked around by waiters and then we followed with a family style service for dinner.

We just wanted to say a huge thank you for your service on Sunday. Everyone adored the food and had an excellent time. People were especially happy with the Panna Cotta.

Andrew and Laura Wedding at Waterfall Farm

18th February 2023. Andrew and Laura got married at the beautiful venue Waterfall Farm in Kaukapakapa. The beautiful wilderness wedding venue allowed them and their 90 guests to have a day filled of action and fun. They tied the knot under the oak trees in the woodland, had a live wedding painter, threw axes and shoot a bow.

They opted for us to be part of the action so all the food was served from our caravan.

Brooke and Tom wedding in Whenuapai

10th March 2023. Brooke and Tom planned the perfect backyard wedding on Brooke’s parent property in Whenuapai.

Brooke is gluten free so it only seemed the perfect fit to have us cater the day. We shared the catering with the Mexican caravan Taco Loco.

Brooke and Tom wanted a very relaxed vibe. They tied the knot at 2.30pm and enjoyed a couple of hours of cocktails and nibbles followed by dinner at 6pm. With no seating plan their 110 guests were let free to wonder between the two truck to to pick up the food and then to dance the night away!

Natasha and James wedding

4th March 2023. Natasha and James tied the know at one of our favourites wedding venues, Songbird Retreat in Leigh. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the close Matakana, Songbird Retreat is perfect if a marquee wedding surrounded by mature trees and beautiful gardens is what you have always dreamed of.

Natasha and James choose to serve the canapés on an antipasto table, followed by dinner and dessert from our food caravan.

Emma and Chris Wedding

17th January 2025

Emma and Chris wedding was set amongst the beautiful hills of Waitoki under a beautiful Hampton marquee.

They choose a relaxed service with five canapés walked around by waiters and dinner served from the food truck.

Emma and Chris canapé choice:

Summer skewers, fresh mozzarella, eggplants, tomatoes

Sourdough focaccia, homemade mayo, salad and salame Milano

Arancini pork sausage, peas and saffron, garlic mayo

Pizzelle fritte (Deep fried gluten free pizza dough with rich tomato sauce, basil and parmesan cheese)

The day was a bit rainy with wind gusts so unfortunately we had to change the plans slightly and do a tray service for the dinner as well so we could concentrate on making sure the food didn’t blow away.

We served Bis di Primi (two entrée size of pasta), Ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach served with tomato and basil sauce and Gnocchi with lamb ragù. Followed by our Meatballs with white wine sauce.

Selena and Luke Wedding in Mangawhai Heads was so relaxed, boho and fun! The garden of Selena’s parents was the perfect space for a Tipi. The initial plan was for us to set up in the garden too, but unfortunately the space was just a little too tight to accomodate the all 82 guests, the Tipi, the furniture and us so the best option was for us to park in the driveway behind the house. We served canapés at cocktail hour and pasta mains, everything was served cocktail style and walked around by waiters on trays.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for yesterday. We are so appreciative of the efforts you went to given the circumstances and the food was so delicious, everybody loved it.

Waitoki, 28th January 2023

No matter how well you plan, life is always full of surprises and you should always be expecting the unexpected. The night before Sophie and Seb’s wedding a heavy rainfall cause widespread catastrophic floods in the North Island. Our plan was pretty straight forward, we had a pop up in Point Chevalier the night before the wedding, we would drive back home to Wellsford as we had always done a million times in the past and set up for the wedding the day after. Except that we never made it home that night, as due to the flash flooding all the roads home were unaccessible due to slips. We stayed in Auckland at a friend’s house and we waited to hear Sophie and Seb’s plans. Around 6am, with the weather looking a lot better, Seb told us that they wanted to go ahead and get married. Well, not going to lie here, we did go a little in panic mode! Luckily we had packed lots of food the day before, it just wasn’t enough and we had to rethink some of the dishes, so we visited some of our suppliers, gathered the ingredients we needed and prepped all morning before making our way to Waitoki! So glad Sophie and Sebastian got to have the wedding of their dreams after all, the weather cleared out for them and all their guests were there to celebrate them.

Wedding-Elle and Sam

Elle and Sam⁠ wedding took place on a beautiful private property in Ti Point overlooking the water which had the perfect Italian feel. On the tables bespoke tablecloths made with a green damask print, bottles of limoncello as name cards, olive branches and baskets of gluten free sourdough and breads. We started with rolling canapès, followed by a seated family style meal on our beautiful white plates.

“We dreamed of getting married in Italy but Covid-19 had other plans. We didn’t want to wait until we could travel again so decided to recreate our vision here in New Zealand. Our friends offered us their beautiful home and its Italian feel matched our theme perfectly. My mum is very creative and helped us to create the perfect al fresco dining experience. Frankie and team at Black Pineapple created bespoke Italian cocktails and a local Italian couple served homemade pasta, which was incredible”.

Wedding-Maia and Sam

Maia and Sam got married on a beautiful sunny day at Araluen Gardens in Whangarei.

The lucky couple won WOW Wedding competion organised by a bunch of awesome northland vendors.

They had a light grazing table just after the ceremony, then choose to have two food trucks to cater their wedding dinner, us and Che Lucio (Argentinian barbeque). Maia and Sam choose to serve two pasta mains: Ravioli filled with ricotta, lemon and pinenuts served with butter, garden herbs and parmesan & Gnocchi with bolognese ragù.
